and I found out after going to Mercer Arboretum for like 8 hours -> I don't like crape myrtles and Chuy's is really good and I don't know what happened, but my peeps at 13th street aren't melting my Pesto Tomato sandwhich anymore and I got my first two paychecks from the Skool of Continuing Studies. My work as a course attendant has been quite satisfactory. I can be really useful sometimes and I get time to study. But I just realized after I picked it up that it's just going back to the school to pay for summer housing.

Chicago in a few weeks! I'm going to the Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights and this year's topic is Human Trafficking. I'm super super excited.

I don't even know how to deal with this.

PASAfest was last night and it was really, really awesome.

Started off a tiny bit rocky - first band didn't show, then.. humanicide had to recover their guitar from a random guy on the street who was trying to steal it (??) and then the owner callin and saying they had their own little way of charging people. but thenn!!

Humanicide goes on.. tons of peoples.. then Million Year Dance was really good. tons of peoples still there. THEN! The Free Radicals went on and all the fans/band members of million year dance were still there and got really into the music. There was tooons of people dancing. It was great. Joy  and I were in charge of selling Free Radicals CDs and we did a really awesome job of scoring them like $60. I think we deserve free CDs now.

And..best of all I got to see ton sof people I haven't seen in forever - lots of PASA/elkins/Houston activist scene/free radicals people. It was so much fun! I loved seeing everyone. 

and there was even some Rice people, including my vonderful roommate &co, who came out to support UNICEF :)

this was definitely one of the most fun PASAfests yet! taylor did an amazzing job

hung out with the kyle last night.

 some highlights:

* chipotle sucks compared to freebirds

* chicago and washington dc have gun bans and are two of the most crime-ridden cities in the US

* diane feinstein, one of the most prominent pro-gun control people in the senate, owns a concealed hand gun license

* while murders due to guns decreased in western europe after gun control laws, murders due to other means increased. ie. murders by household hammers tripled

* grant = guaranteed 15 min conversation + meeting people that can add another 15 mins to the conversation ( ie grant is awesome)

* tom delay might actually lose this time!! there's like 3 other republicans running against him.. i only know one of them, michael fjetland cuz he's run several other times (the last as an independent). he's pretty cool . but i just found out more about nick lampson, the democrat running against him, and he sounds pretty decent too! www.lampson.com apparently he's for a moratorium on the death penalty.. was against the whole marriage amendment thing . and he's already served in congress! whoa. whoa. whoa. tom delay might actually lose. whoa. and how that abrammof guy pleads guilty? whoa.

* sending foreign aid to corrupt foreign governments is a bad idea, seriously

* single caffe mochas are awesome

* hanging out with an awesome friend is one of the best things ever
